I’m feeling so thankful!

I began my journey with Formula Botanica to tackle my own skin problems, but it blossomed into something truly meaningful. My aim is to assist others in maintaining their skin's health and happiness during their motherhood experience. As a mother of 8 kiddos all under 16, I had my doubts about whether I could pull it off. But the videos and modules were incredibly useful, and the support from the tutors made it manageable, even while I was homeschooling 6 of my children.

I persevered with every ounce of determination I could muster. So, if you’re facing a challenging time with little opportunity to formulate, I hope this serves as a spark of inspiration and motivation for you. A positive mindset leads to positive results. ❤️

Taking the Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation has transformed me from a total novice with zero understanding of cosmetic formulation to someone who can confidently mix botanical ingredients into lovely products ready for sale. The support community was fantastic; I could always reach out for help, whether it was from the Facebook team, instructors, or a wonderful group of fellow students. I can't recommend this course enough!

I kicked off my journey in 2017 with the DOSF and wrapped it up in 2019. The course was quite enjoyable, packed with info, especially since I was a total newbie in skincare formulation. The webinars were solid, and the instructors were nice. I liked it so much that I went ahead and signed up for the Entrepreneur program, which is REALLY PRICEY. Unfortunately, being a frontline worker during the pandemic took a toll on my commitment to the program. I was worn out, both physically and mentally. While I think the program is top-notch, it’s really disheartening that students who enroll can’t access the course after their time is up, especially since it’s not exactly pocket change. Sure, you might argue that the personalized tutor grading and ongoing support justify it, but when I had questions, I didn’t get quick responses like I would in a traditional classroom. The online setup feels a bit misleading for what you pay. There are other courses out there that offer lifetime access with similar one-on-one support and content. Given the high cost, and even more if a student needs an extension, it’s a letdown that lifetime access isn’t provided, especially when life throws curveballs (like Covid) or other significant events that can disrupt education. I also managed to finish some courses in the Entrepreneur program, but they’re not showing up when I log in. The badges are visible, but my certificates are missing, which is odd. For these reasons, I can’t recommend it.

I really appreciate Formula Botanica!! Figuring out how to create a safe, effective, and efficient organic hair care formula ain't exactly a walk in the park, but thankfully, FB made it a whole lot simpler. After spending over two years on such an informative platform, I feel like I've gained a top-notch experience that has turned me into a professional formulator.
The only hurdle you might hit is sourcing some raw materials from local suppliers; I put in quite a bit of effort to find natural alternatives to get a similar outcome.
Next up for me is launching my own business and connecting with global suppliers to keep up with market trends.
I’m all about continuous learning to build on the scientific knowledge I’ve gained from Formula Botanica.

Choosing to enroll in this course was truly one of the best choices I've made. I've gained so much knowledge and can now express my ideas with confidence.

I found this course to be absolutely fantastic. It includes six comprehensive and informative modules that kick off with mindset, then move into marketing and PR, finances/pricing, and selling. By the time you finish, you’ll have a solid business plan ready for your startup. Having a university degree in finance, I must say I was a bit partial and really loved the financial section the most. This program is definitely worth signing up for. Big thanks to FormulaBotanica! I’ve just got one more course to go (the advanced diploma).

I’d suggest Formula Botanica to any formulator looking to up their game. The program was excellent, hands-on, thorough, and flexible. Plus, the community in the classroom is incredibly supportive. As a chemical engineer, I picked up a ton of new knowledge about formulations, preservation, and keeping products stable.

This teaching material is reliable and thorough. You can count on it!

I just finished the Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation (DOSF) course from Formula Botanica. Signing up for the DOSF course turned out to be the best choice in my journey of making skincare. Before I joined, I was only creating anhydrous products because I was really hesitant about using preservatives, and I had no clue how to whip up emulsions or other water-based skincare items. I understood that water-based products needed preservatives, but I was nervous about using them, thinking all preservatives were synthetic.

The DOSF course helped me conquer my fear of preservatives. I gained a ton of knowledge on how to formulate natural skincare products correctly, how to research ingredients, where to find trustworthy suppliers, and the ins and outs of using preservatives, including discovering many effective natural options available. This knowledge, along with practicing formulations during the course, really boosted my confidence that I can create high-quality natural water-based skincare products that are both effective and naturally preserved.

The learning platform was super user-friendly. I loved that I could download all the resources and keep them on my computer (or print them out) for later use. The resources and platform were beautifully designed. Every time I logged in, the visuals alone were really inspiring. The videos on the platform made that motivation even stronger. (I’m so looking forward to the next course). I found the course material and instructions to be clear and not too technical.

The student and tutor forums were fantastic. Whenever I had questions, I could easily search the forums, and most of the time, I found my answers there. When I did need to reach out to the tutor, they responded quickly.

One thing that Formula Botanica excels at is encouraging its students. There’s a lot to learn, practice, and research, and it can feel a bit overwhelming at times. But the staff at Formula Botanica are incredibly supportive. They’re always available and ready to help whenever you need it.

Now, I know how to formulate a natural skincare product, and I feel way more confident about using preservatives in water-based items.

I wholeheartedly recommend Formula Botanica to anyone eager to learn how to properly formulate and preserve natural and organic skincare products. You won’t regret it. It’s truly amazing!

The video lessons are simple to follow, and the course workbook downloads are well put together, making this course a real pleasure to finish.

The virtual classroom is definitely a highlight of Formula Botanica; it's where you can gain knowledge and get support from fellow students and teachers. If you're aiming to become an Organic Skincare Formulator, I wholeheartedly endorse Formula Botanica.

Enrolling in this course has truly opened my eyes and imparted a wealth of knowledge. Now, I can create my own natural skin care products that deliver great results. I’m really thankful for the community of students and instructors who were always there to lend a hand, offer support, and give help whenever it was necessary.

Pros: Great learning environment
1. The instructor gets back to you quickly and is super helpful.
2. There’s a ton of podcasts packed with fresh info.
3. They follow up after you complete the courses, which is cool for promoting products if you’ve started a brand, plus they offer advice.
4. They keep sending updates via email to keep us informed.
5. You really feel supported even after you finish.
6. Their alumni program is just awesome.
Cons:
1. Once you finish the course and the access period is up, you can’t get back to the materials, which would be nice to have. Sure, you can save stuff on your computer, but I’d rather have lifetime access like some other schools provide.
2. A few of the videos and info need a refresh; they seem pretty dated.
3. They should definitely proofread, as there are some typos in the materials, which doesn’t look great (they mentioned they’re on it).
Due to these downsides, I’m not giving it a full 5 stars, but I’d rate it at 4.8 stars.
